Project “Strengthening Mathematics Education at TED Colleges (TEDMEG)” has started!

As of the 2023-2024 academic year, the Strengthening Mathematics Education at TED Colleges (TEDMEG) Project has been launched in cooperation with TED University Faculty of Education staff and Faculty of Education and Turkish Education Association.

 

Within the scope of the project, which aims to strengthen mathematics education at the K-12 grade level in all TED Colleges across Turkey through school visit, research, training and consultancy processes; It is coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zerrin Toker from the Department of Mathematics and Science Education.

 

Besides the researchers Lecturer Dr. Sinem Sözen Özdoğan from the Department of Primary Education, Lecturer Dr. Merve Dilberoğlu and Lecturer Gizem Güzeller from the Department of Mathematics and Science Education, researchers from relevant programs within the faculty, will also provide support to the Project.

 

The project, the first phase of which will last 3 years, covers a process in which many different experts and trainers are involved, with the guidance of TED and the steering committee consisting of administrators of our university and Faculty of Education.

 

The project, which aims to integrate our university's research, education and community service missions to achieve the goal of strengthening mathematics education at TED Colleges, includes school-based professional development of teachers, kindergarten-12th. It is anticipated that it will offer exemplary practices on many issues such as monitoring student development in the light of key indicators at the grade level.
